Fun at Manchester... [11.07.2005]

Drinking:
Beer consumption is rather high... I still have my good old J&B too.
Clubbing:
Well... It IS different from USA. I can pretty much say that I got used to it, so have my friends... Almost there... Allmost...
Dining:
Food ouside it generally O.K, but not that great... I could say that overall impression is that 'street food' is not that light; can work well in cases when I am too tired to cook (has happened, lol)
Friends:
I could say that my close friend-base right now is more of international students, mainly from CS Department or Residential. |
Manchester is so far... [09.22.2005]

Well, I can pretty much say that, so far so good. I am doing ok. Got some friends, meeting new ones, getting used to the new place. Might not feel like back at home, but yet, its allright. The faculty here seems to be good and it does feel like I will like doing post-graduate the studies here. Streets are clean, weather is 'fishy (not really sure what is next) and people seem to be friendly. Teenagers/adults are dominating the streets most of the time, and going crazy for clubbing etc. Sadly almost all the bars/pubs etc close at 2am here. After that, you can see people walking around crazy, shouting etc (well, they are generally drunk). Transportation system is well arranged, easy to find busses etc to most destinations.
I will be writing more later on... For now, let us stay with 'so far so good'... and thanks to all the new friends, it doesnt feel lonely etc and all : D kudos to each and every of them : ) |

Strange, but yet a proper phrase. Looks like, one can live both at the same time.
I guess both sides of the phrase contrast on different aspects, with different perspectives.
Blargh, too much philosophy for one day. Deeper analysis shall be done later on. |

It was a great summer...
* Programming: I wrote one new application (StockMan) and updated existing one (XSchedule)
* Money: I guess it can be summarized as... *in < *out... but, *in > 0. so : P
* Leisure: Gathering with friends, making new ones and of course talking and drinking.
* Weather: Freaking hot + long hair... hell on earth it is.
* Other: Going out with a new *friend, spending great time together. Though, that one ends now, completely. |
